Terms and Conditions

These terms explain how you may use LoansForBadCreditUK.co.uk and our free credit broking service.

Please read them before submitting an application. Our Privacy Policy explains how we use personal information. Our Cookie Policy explains how cookies and similar technologies are used.

The key points

Credit broker, not a lender
LoansForBadCreditUK.co.uk is a credit broker, not a lender.
Panel service, not the whole market
We search a panel of participating lenders and brokers. We do not search every provider in the market.
Free to use
Our service is free for you to use. We may receive a commission for the introduction to lending and brokering partners.
Approval is not guaranteed
A match is not a guarantee that you will receive a loan. The provider makes the final decision.

1. Who we are

LoansForBadCreditUK.co.uk is operated by PJG Financial Limited.

PJG Financial Limited is registered in Scotland under company number SC535782. Our registered office is 5 South Charlotte Street, Edinburgh, Scotland, EH2 4AN.

PJG Financial Limited is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Our Firm Reference Number is 919697. You can check our details on the Financial Services Register.

We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office under number ZB537016.

For this website, our main business is providing a credit broking service. We do not lend money or make final lending decisions.

2. When these terms apply

The website-use sections of these terms apply whenever you access or use LoansForBadCreditUK.co.uk.

A credit broking agreement begins when you submit an application and ask us to start searching for a possible provider.

You should not submit an application if you do not agree to these terms.

These terms apply to our website and credit broking service. A separate agreement will apply if you later decide to enter into a loan with a lender.

3. Who may use the service

This website and application service are intended for people who:

  • Are at least 18 years old
  • Live in the United Kingdom
  • Are applying for themselves
  • Can enter into a legally binding agreement
  • Meet the eligibility requirements displayed during the application

You must not apply in another person’s name or submit another person’s information without lawful authority.

The service is intended for personal borrowing. It is not designed for business or commercial borrowing.

4. What our service does

We use the information supplied in an application to search a panel of participating lenders and brokers for a possible match.

We do not search the whole lending market. Other products, providers or lower-cost options may be available elsewhere.

Depending on the application process, information may be considered by one or more panel members. The Privacy Policy explains who may receive application information and why.

If we find a possible provider, we may introduce or redirect you to that provider so you can review its offer or continue an application.

We do not:

  • Guarantee that a provider will accept you
  • Set the interest rate or repayment amount
  • Decide whether lending is affordable
  • Issue loan funds
  • Collect loan repayments
  • Manage an existing loan account
  • Provide personalised financial advice
  • Recommend that borrowing is right for you

A lender remains responsible for its creditworthiness and affordability assessment.

5. Credit searches

Our initial eligibility and matching service does not create a hard search on your credit file.

A soft search may be used as part of checking eligibility. A soft search does not affect your credit score and is not normally visible to other lenders.

If you choose to continue with a formal lender application, that provider may carry out a hard credit search. A hard search can appear on your credit file and may affect future credit applications.

The provider should explain its search before you formally apply. Read that information carefully before continuing.

Do not submit repeated formal applications without considering the possible effect of several hard searches.

6. No guarantee of approval

A possible match, eligibility result, quotation, conditional decision or invitation to continue is not final approval.

The provider may carry out additional identity, fraud, affordability, income and credit checks. It may offer a different amount, rate or repayment term from the one requested. It may also decline the application.

We cannot guarantee:

  • That a match will be found
  • That an application will be approved
  • A particular interest rate
  • A particular loan amount
  • A particular repayment term
  • That money will arrive on the same day
  • That every applicant will receive an offer

No responsible lender or broker can guarantee approval regardless of a person’s circumstances.

7. Loan information

Possible loan amounts displayed on the website range from £100 to £5,000, with possible repayment terms from 3 to 36 months.

Not every provider offers every amount or repayment term. The amount, rate, term and total cost available to you will depend on the provider’s checks and assessment.

Website examples are illustrations rather than personal quotations or offers. Always review the lender’s pre-contract information, agreement, APR, monthly repayments, total repayable and late-payment consequences before entering into a loan.

The lender’s agreement will contain the final terms that apply to the loan. Our representative example and APR are shown in the footer of every page.

Late repayment can cause you serious money problems. For help, go to moneyhelper.org.uk.

8. Information you provide

You must provide information that is accurate, complete and current to the best of your knowledge.

This includes information about your:

  • Identity
  • Address
  • Employment
  • Income
  • Regular spending
  • Existing financial commitments
  • Bank account
  • Contact details

Incorrect information may prevent a suitable match, cause delays or lead a provider to decline an application.

Do not deliberately hide commitments, inflate income or provide false identity or bank information. Suspected fraud or misuse may be reported where the law permits or requires it.

Providing accurate information does not guarantee approval.

9. How we are paid

You do not pay PJG Financial Limited a fee for using the LoansForBadCreditUK.co.uk broker service.

We may receive a commission for the introduction to lending and brokering partners.

Commission arrangements can vary between providers.

You may ask us for the amount, or likely amount, of commission relating to your proposed agreement. Make this request before entering into the agreement by using our Contact page.

Our separate How We Make Money page provides more information.

10. Starting and cancelling the broker service

When you submit an application, you ask us to begin the broker service immediately.

You may cancel your distance credit broking agreement without giving a reason and without a penalty within 14 calendar days.

The cancellation period begins on the later of:

  • The date the credit broking agreement starts
  • The date you receive these terms and the required pre-contract information

To cancel, send us a clear statement through the Contact page, by email or by post:

PJG Financial Limited5 South Charlotte StreetEdinburghScotlandEH2 4ANEmail: contact@loansforbadcredituk.co.uk

Your notice is in time if it is sent before the 14 day period ends.

We do not charge for our broker service, so there is no broker fee or cancellation charge to pay.

Cancelling our broker service does not automatically cancel a separate credit agreement you have entered into with a lender. It also cannot reverse an introduction or lawful processing that already took place before we received your cancellation.

If you want to withdraw from or cancel a loan agreement, contact the lender and follow the cancellation or withdrawal instructions in that agreement.

You can request a paper copy of these terms while our contractual relationship continues.

11. Duration of the broker agreement

The credit broking agreement starts when you submit your application.

It continues while we carry out the requested matching and introduction service. It ends when:

  • You cancel it
  • We tell you that we cannot continue
  • The requested matching and introduction service is completed

Clauses that logically need to continue, including those about complaints, data, intellectual property and responsibility for losses, remain relevant after the service ends.

12. Your loan agreement

If you accept a loan, your agreement is with the lender and not PJG Financial Limited.

The lender is responsible for:

  • Its final lending decision
  • The agreement and pre-contract information
  • The interest rate and charges
  • Paying the money
  • Collecting repayments
  • Statements and account management
  • Arrears and repayment support
  • Complaints about the loan itself

Contact the lender directly if you have a question about an existing loan account. If you are unsure whether an issue relates to our broker service or the lender, you may contact us and we will explain where it should be directed.

Nothing in these terms removes our responsibility for the credit broking service we provide.

13. Third-party websites

Our service may redirect you to a lender, broker or service provider’s website.

Read the provider’s own terms and privacy information before continuing. Its website, application and financial product are operated under its rules.

We are not responsible for a third party’s lending decision or its performance of a separate credit agreement.

However, this does not remove any legal or regulatory responsibility we have for our own conduct, introductions or choice of business partners.

General links to external information are provided to help visitors. A link does not always mean that we approve or recommend every statement on the linked website.

14. Website information

We take reasonable care to keep the website accurate and available.

Financial products, provider criteria, laws and guidance can change. Information may therefore be updated after it is published.

General guides and examples on the website are educational information. They are not personalised financial advice or a recommendation to borrow.

You should consider whether repayments are affordable throughout the proposed term. If borrowing may make your financial position worse, consider lower-cost alternatives or free debt help before applying.

15. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • Use the website unlawfully or fraudulently
  • Apply using false or stolen information
  • Attempt to bypass security controls
  • Introduce viruses or harmful code
  • Interfere with the website or application service
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access
  • Copy, scrape or extract substantial website content without permission
  • Use automated systems in a way that harms the service
  • Misrepresent a connection with PJG Financial Limited

We may block or suspend access where reasonably necessary to protect visitors, partners, the service or our legal obligations.

Blocking access does not prevent someone from making a complaint, exercising data rights or contacting us about an existing matter.

16. Intellectual property

Unless stated otherwise, the website’s written content, design, branding, graphics and software are owned by or licensed to PJG Financial Limited.

You may view and print reasonable extracts for personal, non-commercial use.

You must not reproduce, sell, republish or commercially exploit substantial website content without written permission.

Third-party names and trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.

17. Our responsibility

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits responsibility where doing so would be unlawful.

This includes responsibility for:

  • Death or personal injury caused by negligence
  • Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
  • Breach of rights that cannot legally be excluded
  • Our obligations under financial services law
  • Our failure to use reasonable care and skill

We are responsible for loss that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms or failure to use reasonable care and skill.

We are not responsible for a lender’s independent decision, a lender’s breach of its agreement or loss caused by inaccurate information supplied in an application.

We are not responsible for loss that could not reasonably have been foreseen when the agreement began.

The service is supplied for personal use. We are not responsible for business losses, lost profit or commercial opportunity arising from personal use of the website.

18. Privacy, cookies and marketing

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, retain and share personal information during the matching service.

Our Cookie Policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used by the website.

Agreeing to these terms does not mean that you consent to optional cookies or marketing.

Any marketing choice must be separate, specific and optional. Declining marketing must not prevent someone from using the broker service.

19. Complaints

If you are unhappy with our website, introduction or credit broking service, please use our Complaints page, email contact@loansforbadcredituk.co.uk or write to us at the address in section 23.

We will investigate complaints fairly and without charge.

For most complaints, we aim to provide our final response within eight weeks. If you are unhappy with our final response, or we do not respond within the applicable time, you may be able to refer the matter to the Financial Ombudsman Service.

Financial Ombudsman ServiceExchange TowerLondonE14 9SRTelephone: 0800 023 4567Website: financial-ombudsman.org.uk

The Financial Ombudsman Service is free for consumers. Time limits apply, and our final response will explain them.

If the complaint concerns the lender’s loan agreement, account or lending decision, the lender will normally need to investigate it. Contact us if you are unsure which firm is responsible.

20. Financial Services Compensation Scheme

Financial Services Compensation Scheme protection does not normally apply to claims arising from consumer credit broking.

Protection connected with a separate lender or another financial product depends on the provider, activity and circumstances. You can check the Financial Services Register and the Financial Services Compensation Scheme website for further information.

21. Language, communication costs and applicable law

These terms and our communications about the broker service are provided in English.

We do not charge extra for contacting us online. Your internet, telephone or mobile provider may apply its normal charges.

These terms are governed by Scots law.

If you live elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you retain any mandatory legal protections that apply where you live. You may bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the United Kingdom where you live.

22. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when our service, partners, technology or legal duties change.

The current version and update date will appear on this page. Changes apply from the date they are published and will not remove rights that arose under an earlier version.

Where a material change affects an active contractual relationship, we will provide appropriate notice.
